Lake Maintenance sponsor the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards (EKAAA)

Lake Maintenance were proud to sponsor the East Kimberley Aboriginal Achievement Awards (EKAAA) held on 5th September in Kununurra.

These awards showcase the efforts and contributions of many people throughout the East Kimberley, in particular highlighting the wonderful talents and contribution from the indigenous community.

Lake Maintenance sponsored the award for “Outstanding Contribution to Aboriginal Employment and Training”. Joe O’Byrne, our WA State Manager, attended the awards on behalf of Lake Maintenance along with our Contract Area Supervisors from Kununurra & Halls Creek respectively. This award went to Yeehaa Trail Rides – Indigenous Rangers Program, who are doing excellent work in providing pathways and mentoring programs for young indigenous men, particularly those that are finding it difficult in educational and employment engagement.

Lake Maintenance maintains Indigenous, public and government employee housing throughout the East and West Kimberley, as well as Goldfields and Wheatbelt areas, on behalf of the WA Department of Housing.

We are proud to support these EKAAA awards, as the recognition of hard work and community contribution align with our goals of promoting employment, training and community outcomes in these communities.

The EKAAA Awards were an excellent night full of entertainment, recognition and achievements, in beautiful surroundings.
